Her whole life, it had just been the two of them. Before her mother’s last breath, she gave Camille the information she had craved her entire life: the identity of her father. Daring to contact him, Camille was welcomed by an entire family she never knew existed. But nothing comes without a price, as she discovers when her family claims a legendary heritage tracing back to a Centaur touched by Zeus.

As she learns the secrets of her Centaur bloodline, she is drawn into a forbidden love with Drake. Her family acknowledges her life may be the blood debt required to pay for her mother’s transgressions. The same person who once held her mother captive, and forced her into decades of hiding, now controls Camille. Her only chance is to seek a piece of her mother’s past that will win her freedom and the life she desperately desires.

Review(edit coming soon)
At this point I have read many different types of Fantasy books. Never have I read something with centaurs in it. They aren’t your normal everyday centers though, these centaurs are actually humans that have powers that came from the gods. Each centaur has a gift, for example: mind reading, telekinesis and even some can see the future.  Its creative of what the author has come up with for her version of centaurs.
Blood Debt centers around a girl named Camille. She has lived with her mother all her life but that came to an end when he mother died. Just before she did she told Camille where he father lives and that she should talk to him. She calls him up and this is where her life changes forever.  She learns that she was never really alone and that she doesn’t only have a father but she also has Five brothers and a step mother that adores her. While visiting them she learns that she isn’t human but actually a Centaur from the Chiron herd (herd meaning family). She learns about all this old tradition the Centaur people go through, for example the fact that women can choose who they are going to marry and the men don’t date or think of any women unless they are choose by a Centauride (female Centaur) . It takes time for Camille to get use to the rules of her new life. She then hears that she has a debt to pay because of her mother and what she did in the past. She doesn’t wish to pay this debt but it’s forced onto her and then it gets more complicated when she meets a Drake who is already chosen by a female and that means she can’t have any contact with him but for some reason she feels attracted to him and he feels the same way.

Camille is strong in her beliefs from how she grew up as a normal human. She thought at first she would like the Centaur life because of her father and step mother and step brothers. Though after learning more about that life she wishes to be human, I can’t blame her being a Centuar is tough and hard to accept that life. She also tries hard to learn what her powers could be. She only knew about her powers recently and even if it takes her a long time she will try her best to learn to control them. Then she meets her grandmother. Camille goes against her grandmother so much that a necklace is placed around her to subdue her and it does for a while.Dispite that small weak moment Camille is a strong person and It makes me excited to see how she will grow more into her Centauride life.

Drake is a great guy, it’s surprising that he goes along with the rules of the Centaur people at first. Actually it makes the men tame come pair to human males. They spend their life alone until Centauride hopefully chooses them. Its almost cute in a way when he first meets Camille and learns that he doesn’t want Bianca who had choosen him, he wants Camille. He doesn’t understand his feelings till a bit later when he learn that he can’t stop thinking about her. I’m glad that in the end he figures out how to be with Camille from a plan Bianca, Gage and him came up with, while Camille was under lock.

Bianca at first you don’t know how she is like but it surprises me a bit to learn that she is a kind person. I though she wouldn’t like how the man she pick would be so into Camille, until you learn why. She wants to be Camille’s friend very badly because Camille might be able to help her be with the real man she loves who is Gage.  She is a great character and helps Camille a lot in the way of letting Camille be with Drake alone.
Gage is a great guy who got twisted up in this thing his dad and Camille’s grandmother planned. He would rather be with Bianca or no one at all. It hurts him to see Bianca be with his best friend Drake but he couldn’t do anything. Then he met Camille and learned from Bianca a plan to get them to be who they want to be with.
From start to finish I never got bored of Blood Debt and I loved every moment of it. I can’t wait to read book two to find out what happens between Camille and Drake.
